Please ensure that you are disconnected from any VPN software, such as Ivanti or Pulse Secure, before proceeding.

1. Once installation is complete, you will see the GlobalProtect icon in your Menu Bar.
   
2. Click on the GlobalProtect icon. If presented with the welcome screen, click "Get Started."
   
3. Type "connect.vanderbilt.edu" into the portal field box. Click "Connect" below the portal field box.
   
4. The client will display 鈥�Connecting,鈥� and your default web browser will open for authentication. Follow the prompt to complete the login.
   
   1. If you receive the error message:
      "Connection Failed. Could not connect to the GlobalProtect service. Make sure the GlobalProtect service is running. If the issue persists, contact your administrator,"
      it may be due to GlobalProtect not being allowed to run in the background.
      
      1. Open the Apple menu > System Settings.
      2. Click General in the sidebar, then select Login Items & Extensions.
      3. Under the Allow in Background section, ensure the Palo Alto Networks entry is checked.

      This will allow GlobalProtect to start properly when your system boots up.
      

5. If prompted to allow this website to open GlobalProtect, click 鈥�Always Allow.鈥� You may need to click 鈥�click here鈥� to continue the next time you log in.
   
6. If prompted with the user agreement, click 鈥�I Agree.鈥�
   
7. Once connection is established, the GlobalProtect client will show 鈥�Connected,鈥� and the Menu Bar icon will change.
   
8. Close any previously opened browser tabs, if desired.
9. On 91黑料网 devices, if you鈥檙e on the campus network, the GlobalProtect client will display 鈥�You are on the internal corporate network鈥� and will not establish a VPN connection to avoid potential performance issues. If you need to connect, click the 鈥�Change Gateway鈥� button and select the closest gateway to manually establish the tunnel.
