Client Download
Most devices run a 64-bit version of Windows. To verify the version of Windows you have:
- Open Settings by pressing
Win + I. - Navigate to System > About.
- Under the Device specifications section, check the System type field.
- If you see "ARM-based processor" here, refer to the "ARM64" tab below.
On a web browser, navigate to the GlobalProtect downloads page . Follow the prompts to complete the login.

Download the appropriate installation package based on your device鈥檚 operating system.

For computers with ARM processors, download the client from the link below.
If prompted, complete the login process. Once logged in, click the Download button to save the file to your device. Please note that a preview of the file is not available.

Dual Identity (VUMC) Users: If you see "access denied" or any other errors, open this webpage in an "Incognito" or "InPrivate" window and use your University email address to sign in.
Installation
Administrative rights are required to install this application on your machine. If you do not have admin access, please contact your local IT support provider for assistance.
Navigate to the file location of the downloaded installation package.
Double-click the package and follow the onscreen prompt for installation of the GlobalProtect client.
Connect to VPN
Please ensure that you are disconnected from any VPN software, such as Ivanti or Pulse Secure, before proceeding.
- Once installation is complete, you will see the GlobalProtect icon in your System Tray.

- Click on the GlobalProtect icon. If presented with the welcome screen, click Get Started.

- Type connect.vanderbilt.edu into the portal field box. Click Connect below the portal field box.

- The client will display Connecting, and your default web browser will open for authentication. Follow the prompt to complete the login.

- Click Open Global Protect. You may also choose to check the "Always Allow" box. If the checkbox is selected, you may need to click 鈥click here鈥 to continue the next time you log in.

- If prompted with the user agreement, click I Agree.

- Once connection is established, the GlobalProtect client will show Connected, and the system tray icon will change.

- Close any previously opened browser tabs, if desired.
- On 91黑料网 devices, if you鈥檙e on the campus network, the GlobalProtect client will display 鈥You are on the internal corporate network鈥 and will not establish a VPN connection to avoid potential performance issues. If you need to connect, click the Change Gateway button and select the closest gateway to manually establish the tunnel.

Disconnect from VPN
Note: You generally don鈥檛 need to disconnect unless necessary. The system is designed to be 鈥渁lways on鈥 to ensure continuous security protection. If you need to disconnect, follow the steps below.
- Click on the GlobalProtect icon in the system tray.
- Click the top-right menu icon, then click Disconnect.

- Select the reason to disconnect and click Disconnect.

- A countdown timer will start. After one hour, if you haven鈥檛 reconnected, you will be prompted to log in.

- Click on the GlobalProtect icon in the system tray.
- Click the Disconnect button.
