Traditional Single Room Process (Begins February 15, 2026)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

All unassigned, continuing upper-division students who submitted their Housing Registration are eligible to participate in the traditional single room process.\u00a0 Traditional single rooms are available in Blakemore, (male), Cole (female), and Tolman (male).\u00a0 Single rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors of McGill Hall may also be available for selection and are not a part of the McGill Project living learning community.<\/p>\n

Traditional Single Room Application:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Any student interested in participating in the Single Room Process must complete the Single Room Application in the Housing Portal between February 15 at 12 a.m. CST and February 17 at 6 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n

Traditional Single Room Hallmate Groups (OPTIONAL):<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Any student participating in the single room process is welcome to form a hallmate group with up to three (3) students of the same sex.\u00a0 Forming a hallmate group links students together for the random selection process.\u00a0 If the group is successful, they will select rooms together.<\/p>\n

Forming a hallmate group will run concurrently with the Single Room Application.\u00a0 In order to form a hallmate group, all students must first submit their Single Room Application. Hallmate groups can be formed between February 15 at 12 a.m. CST and February 17 at 6 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n

How to Form a Hallmate Group:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log into the Housing Portal.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on \u201cRoommate Selection\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Click \u201cSelect Roommates\u201d.<\/li>\n
  4. Select \u201cFall 2026\u201d as the term from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n
  5. If any other student\/s have already requested you as a\u00a0roommate\/hallmate, the requests will show under \u201cPending\u00a0Roommate Requests\u201d. To accept requests, click on the three dots to the left of their name and select the \u201cMatch\u201d icon.<\/li>\n
  6. To request a student, click on \u201cSearch for Roommate\u201d.\u00a0Students are encouraged to search by VUnetID.<\/li>\n
  7. Confirm that all members of your roommate\/hallmate group\u00a0accept\/request the student\/s they would like in their group under \u201cRoommate Requests.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Failure of one (1) or more students to accept all roommates will result in the group being ineligible for the consideration in the random selection process.<\/p>\n

    IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED A FULLY MATCHED HALLMATE GROUP, ALL MEMBERS OF THE GROUP MUST EITHER REQUEST ONE ANOTHER OR ACCEPT ANY PENDING REQUESTS FROM OTHER GROUP MEMBERS. NO EMAILS OR COMMUNICATION REGARDING HALLMATES WILL BE SENT TO STUDENTS FROM THE OFFICE OF HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS. STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING WITH ONE ANOTHER TO ENSURE GROUPS ARE PROPERLY FORMED. UNMATCHED HALLMATE GROUPS WILL BE CONSIDERED AS INDIVIDUALS IN THE RANDOM SELECTION PROCESS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Traditional Single Room Random Selection and Results:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    A seniority driven, random selection utilizing the point average of all individuals\/ hallmate groups will be conducted to determine successful individuals\/groups.\u00a0 Successful individuals\/groups with higher point averages will be assigned earlier room selection times.\u00a0 Ties in point average will be broken via random selection.<\/p>\n

    Results will be announced via email on February 18 at 6 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n

    Traditional Single Room Selection:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Room selection will take place online in the Housing Portal on February 19.\u00a0 Successful individuals\/hallmate groups with selection times will be able to log into the online room selection fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of the room selection event in order to review the available spaces.\u00a0 Room selections cannot be made until the individual\/group scheduled selection time. \u00a0For hallmate groups of two (2) or more, please designate one (1) member of the group to complete the online room selection. \u00a0Individuals\/groups are welcome to select any available space. \u00a0Once you submit your room selection, changes are not permitted and your selected space will be your assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year.\u00a0 If individuals\/groups do not find a space they wish to select, they can leave the online room selection without selecting a space and participate in future processes without penalty.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
