International Student Orientation<\/strong><\/h1>\n

International Student Orientation (ISO) is required for all international first-year undergraduates<\/strong>. Domestic students currently living abroad are also welcome to attend, but it is not required. If you would like to participate, please email commons@vanderbilt.edu<\/a> by July 15, 2026. <\/strong>Domestic students who elect to participate must attend all required sessions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

New international graduate students should consult with their individual programs and departments for an orientation schedule.<\/p>\n

After International Student Orientation, first-year international students will also participate in the required CommonVU Orientation.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The full International Student Orientation schedule will be posted in early July.<\/p>\n

Students should plan for three full days of orientation prior to the start of CommonVU Orientation. Mandatory events may only be missed for academic conflicts, illness, or religious observances. Please contact commons@vanderbilt.edu<\/a> in advance <\/strong>if you believe you need to miss any portion of orientation.<\/p>\n

Accommodations<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you or one of your guests anticipate needing accommodations to participate fully in International Student Orientation or CommonVU Orientation, please contact us at commons@vanderbilt.edu<\/a> or (615) 322-4948. As much notice as possible is appreciated.<\/p>\n

International Student Move-In, Housing & Dining<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

International Move-In Day takes place on Wednesday, August 19 from 8 a.m. \u2013 8 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT),<\/b> with check-in at The Commons Center. Students who move in on August 19 must<\/b> participate in International Student Orientation, which takes place Thursday, August 20 \u2013 Friday, August 21.<\/p>\n

Students arriving after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19 are considered late arrivals and will be directed to check-in at the Hank Ingram House front desk regardless of housing assignment.<\/p>\n

Please note: You must receive advance permission from Residential Colleges to arrive late for orientation as it is mandatory for all incoming first-year international students. Early move-in requests (prior to August 19) cannot<\/b> be accommodated. Please plan your travel to Nashville accordingly.<\/p>\n

Parent & Family Programs<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Parents and families are invited to participate in move-in and orientation. The orientation schedule will flag special events for parents and families. If you plan to bring guests to orientation, please be sure to indicate who they are on the Pre-Arrival Form in the Housing Portal. Parents and families are also encouraged to connect with the 91黑料网 Parent and Family Programs Office<\/a> <\/strong>for additional support. Parents can also find support by calling the Parent Helpline at (877) 887-2736 or emailing parents@vanderbilt.edu<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

International Orientation Leaders<\/strong><\/h4>\n

iLEAD is a student organization composed of International Orientation Leaders (IOLs). IOLs provide support, guidance, and fun to incoming first-year international undergraduate students during International Student Orientation. Over the summer, you will be assigned an IOL who will reach out and offer support as you prepare to come to campus. To learn more about the iLEAD organization, visit their organization page<\/a>.<\/strong> You can also follow iLEAD on Instagram @vu_ilead<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To assist you with making this transition, all incoming international students will be assigned to one of 20+ International Orientation Groups. These groups \u2013 each of which is comprised of approximately 10 international students \u2013 meet throughout International Student Orientation. International Orientation Groups help you form connections and support networks as you establish and navigate your new life at 91黑料网.<\/p>\n

Each International Orientation Group is led by one IOL. IOLs work collaboratively with Transfer Student Leaders<\/strong><\/a> and VUceptors<\/a> <\/strong>to welcome all new undergraduate students to campus each year.<\/p>\n
