Seattle Arboretum Engagement Photos | University of WashingtonToday we were at University of Washington Arboretum Park in Seattle We would love to introduce Amanda and Craig. We just love photographing people during their Engagement Session. This cute, fun and so much in love couple are embarrassing each other on a dock overlooking a small pond. This picture was taken at Seattle Arboretum just south of the University of Washington on January 31, 2015 at 1:30pm. Camera gear is super important, and photographing the subject just right is something we take very seriously. We used the Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a EF 135mm f2.0 lens and a Speedlite flash system. to photograph them. When photographing our subjects, careful consideration is paid to every aspect of the picture. But with this, a lot of stuff goes right. For example, in this picture The arboretum has many places where you can escape from the sun. The dock provides a lot of shade. This couple didn't need any posing. They naturally came together. There were some challenges with this picture. For example, With it being winter, it was cold. And this was the weekend right before the Seattle Seahawks went to the superbowl (and lost). But there wasn't a lot that could go wrong here.. As a wedding and engagement photographer, we not only look at the picture. Taking great engagement pictures means looking at the whole entire scene, not just the subject you want to take a picture of.A37 For example, colors. Colors are very important as they draw the attention of the viewer to the picture. In this particular photograph, Amanda is wearing a peach colored shirt and Craig is wearing a blue button up shirt. They didn't know each other, but Amanda wanted to meet him. So, being the photographer-matchmakers we are, we introduced them. Apparently they hit it off because they called us last November to schedule their wedding photography with us. This is such a happy story. And starting now, we offer competitive Seattle wedding videography packages to compliment our wedding and engagement photography.
