Research groups interested in using the ACCRE cluster can follow the steps below to get started. All new groups are created under the guest account which provides a fairshare of 10 cores with a bursting limit of 16 cores. All new users receive 180GB in their home folder and their /nobackup/user/vunetid folder. Additional resources can be rented or purchased to move your group out of the guest account. ACCRE compute cluster:听lets users scheduled intensive computing jobs to run on ACCRE鈥檚 compute nodes. The cluster provides access to the听听.听
Please note- at this time, ACCRE does not provide custom software installations for users or labs.听 Users or labs are responsible for maintaining their own custom software libraries.听 If the group is unable to install the software, ACCRE can provide a paid support service via Research Software Engineer Service.
Getting Started
- To gain access to the ACCRE Cluster听- request to join an existing group or request a new group for your lab. To begin the process, login to the听听with your VUNet ID and password. If you already have an existing ACCRE ID, you will be presented with your user and group information upon login. If you do not have an existing ACCRE ID, you will be presented with two forms upon login. One form to听join an existing group听and another form to听request a new group.
- Joining an existing group听- complete the form to join an existing group and select the existing group name provided to you by your PI from the drop down menu. Please allow a few days for your PI to approve your new user request. Once approved, you will receive an email pointing you to听
- Requesting a new group听- The PI of the group should complete the form to request a new group. Complete the required fields and select your data classification level. You can also set a delegate/trusted manager for the group to be granted access to manage group resources. Please allow 5 days for new group creation.
- Guest account access:听- If you do not wish to request your own group but would like to test ACCRE as a guest user, please fill out the form to听join and existing group听and select the 鈥淚ndividual ACCRE Guest Users鈥� group. ACCRE Directors will approve requests to join the Individual ACCRE Guest Users group on a weekly basis.

Process Time for New Requests
- For new group requests, please allow 5 business days for new group creation.
- Please allow 5 business before submitting a ticket related to PI approval of user additions to group
By default, all new groups are added to the guest parent account and receive limited resources for the purpose of testing the cluster. Please review our services and pricing page for a complete list of offerings. When you are ready to move your group from the guest parent account to a new paid account, you can increase your fairshare or request group storage by submitting the appropriate service agreement under the ACCRE core in iLab.
